a little about me.

I was born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador. My childhood was spent in a smaller, rural town. My parents were both teachers, and I have an older sister and younger brother. Most of my life growing up revolved around sports. I was involved in cross country running, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball and dance.

Once I graduated high school, I moved to the city of St. John’s to attend Memorial University. I knew I wanted to work in healthcare as I’ve always had a passion for health, nutrition and fitness. I eventually landed on nursing, and graduated with my Bachelor of Nursing in 2013.

My career as a registered nurse began in a small emergency department, then on to acute care, critical care, clinical teaching, and then research (see my Work Experience page for more details). My current role as a Research Registered Nurse Coordinator is in the nuclear and molecular medicine department where I am responsible for clinical trials as well as any nursing care that is required within the department. It's a wonderful balance of research and clinical skills.

As a registered nurse in Newfoundland and Labrador, I am a member of the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (https://crnnl.ca).  I am currently employed with NL Health Services (https://nlhealthservices.ca) as a Research Registered Nurse Coordinator.
